AutoSens 2022

Registration is now open for the AutoSens event, a premier gathering of experts in AV and ADAS technology, which will be held on September 12-14 at the Autoworld Museum. This year for the first time the event adds a separate fourth day, on 15 September, with a specific focus on the technology enabling the in-cabin experience. Both events bring together industry leaders from the top OEMs, Tier 1s and technology suppliers, as well as industry commentators, trade groups and policy makers, including the European Commission.

In its 7th year, AutoSens Brussels features more than 60 speakers, including five insightful keynote talks. The program also includes interactive panel discussions, and more than two dozen technical case studies. Among the featured speakers will be representatives BMW, Bosch, DENSO, Valeo, Sony, NVIDIA, and Cruise.

Important topics to be discussed are:

  • The changing face of the ADAS and automotive market
  • Developments in camera image quality
  • Leveraging RADAR, ultrasonic, LiDAR and thermal imaging
  • Approaches to sensor fusion in automotive perception
  • Architecture and data flow, AI and machine learning considerations for imaging
  • Simulation and robust validation of sensor systems, including digital twins and training data

"AutoSens is a genuine meeting of the world's leading experts in sensors, image processing and system design and engineering for both today's ADAS solutions and the future of autonomous vehicles. It's a must-attend event in my calendar every year and I'm a strong advocate of Sense Media's science-focused approach wherever I go,” said Professor Patrick Denny, Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence University of Limerick.

InCabin focuses on safety, comfort, and convenience

The InCabin event responds to growing interest for in-cabin monitoring and other intelligent interior technologies, driven by forthcoming regulations and market demand for improved safety, comfort and convenience for driver and passengers.

Demonstrations and talks will center on applications for safety, comfort, and productivity enabled by sensors, processing hardware, AI software and algorithms, and HMI & UI design.

Among the representatives from the technology supply chain are OEMs and Tier 1s such as Volvo, BMW, LG, and Bosch as well as tech innovators like XPERI, Smart Eye, Cipia and Tobii, and key semiconductor suppliers Sony, OMNIVISION and STMicroelectronics.

Notable topics to be covered include:

  • The regulatory update from EuroNCAP
  • What are the requirements to meet and keep five-star ratings?
  • The importance of user experience enablement in in-cabin sensing
  • What functionality is critical in terms of delivering safety and delivering great mobility experiences?
  • How to validate and verify DMS
  • Technical challenges and technology requirements for interior monitoring
  • How can DMS and ADAS work well together?
  • What data do you need and how to manage data synthesis and annotation?

"The agenda presents relevant and updated topics with an immense amount of knowledge regarding vehicle in-cabin sensing technology and its various ramifications. The conference highlights diverse and promising discussions for future in-cabin technology development, capabilities and applications." Danilo Neves, Advanced Engineering Leader, Volvo Cars.
