DESTACO, designer and manufacturer of high-performance automation, workholding, and remote handling solutions, announced the launch of the eRDH Series Electric Parallel Gripper. This latest addition to the DESTACO Robohand product line offers precision, flexibility, and ease of use.

Designed with the future of automation in mind, the eRDH Series integrates state-of-the-art features, including four teachable sensors, speed control, force control, and selectable internal or external grip configurations, all tailored to meet the evolving needs across industries such as automotive, consumer goods, food and packaging, and industrial manufacturing.

Intuitive and efficient design

The eRDH gripper distinguishes itself with an intuitive keypad interface, allowing for quick and easy configuration adjustments and sensor settings. "Our goal was to eliminate the complexity and time-consuming setup processes associated with other electric grippers," says Matt Girand, vice president and general manager, Americas and Global Automation. "With eRDH, operators can fully configure the device, including sensor parameters, in under a minute."

Moreover, the built-in jaw locking technology ensures the grip force is maintained even without power, enhancing safety and reliability. The keypad lockout feature prevents unauthorized tampering, while basic diagnostic feedback to PLC systems alerts operators to any fault conditions, mitigating downtime.

A greener choice for automation

Addressing the increasing demand for sustainable manufacturing solutions, the eRDH Series operates on a 24VDC power supply with ultra-low power consumption. This feature makes it well-suited to mobile platforms and applications where energy efficiency is paramount.

Applications across industries

With its versatile design and robust performance, the eRDH Series is suited for a wide array of applications, from assembly and packaging to handling sensitive electronics and delicate consumer goods. The flexibility to fine-tune gripping functions allows users to achieve greater accuracy, ensuring the eRDH Series meets the precision requirements of even the most demanding tasks.
