Since its launch in 2011, the GROOVEX line from VARGUS has expanded to include a growing number of innovative grooving solutions for groove turning, groove milling and small parts machining applications in a wide range of industrial sectors.
Recent additions to the GROOVEX family include new insert sizes for the GM Slot and Mini-V product lines. The GM Slot insert range was extended to include sizes 9V and 11V for minimum bore diameters from 16.7mm and 22.7mm, respectively. The Mini-V insert range grew to include V14 inserts for minimum bore diameters from 14mm. The V14 insert was also designed to machine internal and external face grooving applications in square and round profiles with minimum bore diameters of 12 mm (.472”) and 14 mm (.551”), respectively.
GROOVEX has also seen excellent results from the introduction of its new chip former technology earlier in 2013, offering better chip evacuation for boring applications in stainless steel materials. Available for both microscope and Mini-V boring inserts, the chip former inserts are suitable for the following shank diameters in microscope tools: 4, 5, 6 and 7mm and in Mini-V 8mm and 11mm insert sizes with shank diameters of 6mm and 8mm, respectively.
Late 2013 saw the introduction of Groovical, new high productivity tools from GROOVEX for general grooving applications. Suitable for internal and external grooving and parting off applications available in a variety of different grooving profiles: square, round and specials, the new Groovical line includes two distinct tooling systems designed for:
• Groove Widths: GV26: 0.5-2mm and GV29: 2-6.35mm
• Groove Depths: GV26: up to 5mm and GV29: up to 6.5mm
Groovical tools feature inserts with 3 cutting corners and a unique rigid clamping system for improved productivity.
