New modular circular milling tools from Walter are for internal machining of holes, including slot milling, chamfer milling, and creating circlip grooves. Targeted areas of use are general mechanical engineering and the automotive industry.
The milling tools are available with four different exchangeable head versions: MG510, MG515, MG520, and MG545. The MG510 head is for general slot milling and is available with three or six teeth (z = 3 or z = 6). The MG515 head is for general slot milling with a soft cutting action and has six teeth (z = 6). The MG520 head is for generating circlip grooves for placement of a fastener or retaining ring and has three or six teeth (z = 3 or z = 6). The MG545 head is for chamfer milling at 45° and has three or six teeth (z = 3 or z = 6).
The primary application is circular milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel up to 70 HRC (ISO P, M, K and H material groups). The secondary applications include milling non-ferrous materials (ISO N material group) and materials with difficult cutting properties. The overall diameter range for the cutting tools is from 6.7mm to 39.7mm.
The tools are made of the Walter WMP35X universal high-performance grade and come standard with an internal coolant supply. A variety of steel and solid carbide shanks are also available with both Weldon and cylindrical adaptions.
