Grinding machine

The 200GX threaded wheel grinding machine has a two-spindle concept that combines maximum productivity with minimized idle and setup times. Software-guided setup of the machine allows the user to set up the machine from one workpiece to another in 20 minutes using only one tool.

Fully automatic workflow after setup until grinding the first workpieces and the ability to interface with Gleason GMS machines via QR codes increases productivity. Easily accessible machine components make maintenance simple and efficient while standard dimension grinding wheels and dressing tools allow use of existing tools.

Tools for high-efficiency machining

The Pow · R · Path IP cutting tools are designed to maximize high-efficiency machining (HEM). The cutting tools include two series – Pow ·R ·Path IPT7 series and Pow ·R ·Path IPC series with IMCO’s chip management system (CMS).

Both series feature 7-flute configurations and are made with a stronger, larger-diameter core for straighter walls in deep cuts and strength for longer continuous cutting at HEM’s high feed rates. Pow ·R ·Path IPC7 and IPC9 series add the CMS for reliable chip evacuation.

Pneumatic drives

With a redesigned pneumatic drive, the LRC 20 offers a set of hand tools that can grind, mill, and polish difficult places such as leading edges and corners of impellers or the insides of narrow pipes.

The LRC 20 is quiet (69.5dB), slender, and maneuverable, and provides 20,000rpm for handwork. A centrifugal governor regulates the speed and saves an average of 20% of the compressed air needed for conventional air tool technologies. Exhaust air is directed backward, protecting the work surface from lubricating oil and further reducing noise level.

Workholding chucks

A new version of the Model 450 4" diameter air chuck has hardened and ground jaws to grip the outside diameter (OD) of a precision split collet. The hardened and ground collet can locate on a 0.8683" part diameter and has an OD of approximately 1.8000" to clear the flange. Collets are made of alloy steel with the ID and OD ground at the same time to insure tight tolerance run out.

PVD coated inserts for difficult materials

Tiger·tec Silver PVD coated inserts are for machining stainless steel, high temperature alloys (ISO-M and ISO-S), and other difficult to machine materials. The inserts are also effective for some small steel (ISO-P) components in mass production.

A PVD aluminum oxide coating protects the inserts from wear for longer tool life and higher cutting speeds. Since the deposition is made via PVD process, the fine-grain carbide substrate retains more of its original toughness. With lower PVD layer thicknesses, sharp cutting edges are maintained.
