Bar feeder
From the Edge Bar Feeders line, the Minuteman 320 SE, a 12ft magazine bar feeder, is designed for feeding round, square, and hexagonl bar stock into CNC lathes. An extruded aluminum case surrounds the Minuteman’s polyurethane guide channels, increasing strength and stability. The channel configuration is flooded with oil to create a hydrodynamic effect resulting in higher rpm with reduced noise and vibration.
Dual anti-vibration devices stabilize the bar stock at two critical points between the guide channel and lathe spindle maximizing rpm potential. Its adjustable roller design provides support and easy set-up of all bar diameters without the cost of multiple bearing blocks.
As a standard feature on the Minuteman 320 SE, the synchronization device for Swiss-style lathes employs an electro-magnetic coupling, mechanically linking the headstock’s Z-axis travel to the bar feeder’s pusher to ensure synchronous movement and no loss of connection between the bar stock and pusher collet.

Hydraulic toolholder
Tendo E compact, applicable for milling, drilling, and reaming, has hydraulic expansion toolholders to safely transfer high torques for high volume cutting.
In roughing operations, tool cost reductions of up to 40% have been achieved with Tendo E compact. Tools can be quickly changed with an Allen key, making this hydraulic expansion toolholder an alternative for operations where the toolholder quantities do not justify peripheral equipment purchases.
Common spindle connections are available, including interfaces HSK-A63, SK40, BT40, CAT40, and CAT50.

Laser cutting system
The S206-II with IMG 400LS laser cutting system combines 6-axis Swiss machining with laser cutting, allowing both operations on one setup. Operations are programmed and driven from a Fanuc 32i-B control. The nozzle standoff adjustment is NC controlled, and the laser’s frequency, pulse width, focus, and power are adjustable on the fly.
The 20mm, 9-axis BW209Z split-slide CNC precision automatic lathe is also available as are the B0206-II (20mm) and B0326-II (32mm) 6-axis Swiss turns. Both can be run as traditional sliding headstock machines with a guide bushing or as chuckers without guide bushings.

Cost estimating software
The 3DFX add-on for Costimator has an automated feature recognition (AFR) function to recognize CAD features and their parameters from solid models, and provide estimators complete control over features they extract and import for estimating.
Costimator with 3DFX increases cost estimating speed and quoting throughput by 90%, while improving cost estimating accuracy and consistency.
The Costimator 3DFX 3D CAD viewer supports more than 30 file formats from developers such as AutoCAD, STEP, IGES, NX, and SolidWorks. Estimators can collect accurate measurements, cut dynamic sections, and play animation. AFR functionality automatically recognizes 3D CAD features such as holes, slots, pockets, bends, forms, and their parameters from solid models.
3DFX is a fully integrated add-on for Costimator. CAD features and the parameters that are selected and sent to Costimator are automatically estimated via industry-validated cost models.
It also offers a model editor for user-customizable templates, enabling estimators the ability to develop their own defined parameters. Any unrecognizable features and their associated dimensions can be quickly identified and entered during the process.

The Alox SN2 TiAlN-based coating for indexable and solid carbide tooling extends tool life for turning, threading, and milling. The tough characteristics of Alox SN2 make it a capable choice for roughing steel and hardened alloys including castings. The supernitride coating also provides high oxidation resistance.
The coating has great adhesion, due to the nanocomposite structure and low residual coating stress, and is designed for machining of steel, cast iron, and high strength alloys.

Chamfering tool
The D4580 chamfer body provides cost effective drilling and chamfering in one tool. This two-in-one approach reduces machining time since fewer tool changes are required.
The D4580 is suitable for use with a wide variety of materials, including ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S, and for all holes with 45° chamfers. In the automotive industry this applies to cylinder heads, cylinder blocks and sump face holes, housings and mounting holes, and turbocharger and related mounting holes. The chamfer body is available in six inch and metric body sizes with chamfer widths up to 0.011" (2.8mm). The D4580 chamfer body is suitable for use with all corresponding solid carbide drills.

Telescopic linear slides
GN 2404 steel telescopic linear slides with partial extension are RoHS-compliant and used for storage drawers, sliding doors, and in jigmaking for linear sliding motion.
If the support screw is removed on both sides, the sliding distance extends the length of the rail plus an additional distance of more than half the rail’s length. External elements should limit the maximum sliding distance.
Rail supports guard against inadvertent extraction of the runner from the rail. Available upon request are other lengths, based on 80mm standard lengths grid dimensions; and special lengths, between bores, start, and end distances.

Vertical machining center
The Vesta 1000 vertical machining center (VMC) offers precision machining and long-term productivity for mold and die, automotive, energy, medical, and aerospace applications.
Adaptive software allows the machine to be programmed in fast mode for roughing or precision mode for finish machining.
Software monitors environmental- and machining-related variables and adjusts the machining process automatically. Machining center tool load detection software detects and diagnoses the tool load to reduce tool wear and prevent damage. The spindle unit is jacketed and bearings are cooled to minimize thermal displacement.
