Fagor CNC thread repair

A conversational thread repair cycle from Fagor Automation allows CNC users to repair threading issues with both tapered and non-tapered threads.

The operator adjusts the spindle to an access entry location to align the tool to an existing thread. At this point, the operator places the cursor over the root Z coordinate, presses the recall key, and then presses the enter key to teach it the position. This method works even if the spindle is at a position other than zero. The start and end positions of the thread can be quickly taught as well.

The pitch can be entered as an actual pitch distance, threads per inch, or by choosing from six different standard thread types where the pitch and depth are automatically calculated. Turning cycles are accessed via a single hotkey. All associated variables are contained on a single page for simplicity. A graphic assist screen is present with each screen and no prior G-code knowledge is necessary to program and execute. Each cycle can be executed as a single operation or saved within a multiple operation part-program.

FAGOR CNC PROGRAMMING
Fagor controllers include an on-board, mini-CAD/CAM system, the Profile Editor, that allows users to create simple profiles. Contours can be automatically entered into the program or saved as a subroutine, accessible at any time in any program.

For off-line CAD/CAM program creation, CNCs are equipped with Ethernet capability, RS 232 serial port, and a USB, allowing the customer to determine the best method for downloading the program to the CNC.
