Matrix support for future innovations
TargetLink version 4.0, a production code generator, now features the support of matrix calculations. Control algorithms using state-space representation for highly complex applications, such as automotive advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), can be efficiently modeled with TargetLink. Complex control algorithms with matrix calculations can be efficiently converted into high-quality production C-code. The resulting auto-generated code can be integrated with legacy software. TargetLink 4.0 also includes support of dynamic look-up tables, which make modeling of adaptive controllers easier.
TargetLink is certified by TÜV SÜD for use with safety-related projects according to ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

Power amplifier IC for car audio
TCB001HQ, a 4-channel power amplifier integrated circuit (IC), improves noise tolerance in audio systems in cars with engine idling reduction systems. Mass production was scheduled to start in March 2015.
By reducing the minimum operation voltage from 8V to 6V, the new power amplifier realizes stable operation and prevents sound loss and noise generation in car audio. The IC improves noise tolerance with a filter circuit, and minimizes the influence of cellular phone waves on the sound. In addition, reinforced protection circuits realize higher reliability.
Specifications
- Maximum output power: 45W x 4ch
- Operating supply voltage range: 6V to 18V
- Output offset voltage: 90mV
- Output noise voltage: 45µV

Power management IC
The S6BP401A series is a secondary power source integrated circuit (IC) for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This single-chip solution has a 6-channel power output, which includes a 4-channel DC/DC converter and 2-channel low-dropout regulator. Integrating output setting impedance and phase compensation circuits internally for all channels, the S6BP401A reduces the PCB size and bill of materials, enabling smaller, cost-effective ADAS.
This series of parts is equipped with a built-in windowed watchdog timer, separate pins to turn on/off each channel, and dedicated pins to monitor the power integrity of each channel. This ensures a reliable system, compliant with automotive safety integrity level-B (ASIL-B). Each output level is compatible with various system requirements and each voltage level is set in accordance with customer specifications when the product ships from the factory.

Electric bus battery systems
The TerraVolt XR extended-range battery can be configured on electric bus systems to travel up to 180 miles between charges. This high-energy-density battery complements the existing TerraVolt FC fast-charge battery which has been extensively tested across nearly 1 million customer revenue miles.
The two battery packs are key components of the TerraFlex energy system and can be used interchangeably in the Catalyst vehicle platform. This system enables customers to select the right amount and type of energy storage to meet specific route requirements.
Once customized, operators can easily reconfigure battery packs to meet evolving service needs. Both battery systems are compatible with existing on-route and in-depot chargers.
The fast-charge Catalyst FC is now available in configurations carrying between 53kWh and 131kWh of energy storage and can be fully recharged in less than 10 minutes.
Extended-range Catalyst XR configurations carry between 129kWh and 321kWh of energy storage and can be recharged in a little more than an hour.

Light-duty electric park brake
Electric park brake (EPB) technology can save more than 20 lb per vehicle for trucks and SUVs when compared to conventional park brakes – leading to enhanced fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.
EPB can also work with electronic stability control for safer emergency stops by preventing wheel lock, or help relieve fatigue in traffic jam situations by holding the vehicle stationary.
Further advantages include freeing up interior cabin space through the elimination of levers or foot pedals used to engage mechanical park brakes as well as the brake cabling – all replaced by a simple button or switch and electronic wiring. This simplifies vehicle assembly, allows for more flexible interior design, and saves more weight.
EPD solutions range in clamping loads from 18.5kN for cars, light trucks, and SUVs, to 25kN for heavy-duty trucks.
Electric park brake components
- EPB switch
- EPB caliper with integrated electro-mechanical actuator
- Electronic control unit (ECU)
- EPBi (option) integrates the EPB functionality and electronics into an electronic stability control (ESC) system
EPD vehicle functions
- Drive away assist
- Automatic hill hold
- Emergency braking
- Rollaway prevention
- Dynamic braking
- Static braking
- Automatic engine start-stop support
