Quick-load barfeeder

The Quick Load Servo S3 T Automatic Magazine Barfeeder loads 1/4" to 4-3/4" diameter bar stock in lengths from 4" to 63" (not to exceed overall spindle length). Fully automatic diameter adjustment and other features enable 15 second or less diameter changes within the pusher range, and one minute or less complete changeovers.

An enhanced, menu-driven touch screen HMI prompts shape, diameter, and part-length data entry for automatic changeover adjustments. A parts library stores data for 500 part programs, and an embedded web server in the PLC allows the barfeeder to share data with the CNC machine via the LNS e-Connect communications tool.

The S3 T offers a 39" wide magazine tray for large capacities, up to 1,200 lb, for unattended operation. The adjustable tray permits optimum application adjustments (hex, square, etc.) including a safety switch for safe reloading. The machine offers front or rear load for optimum utilization of floor space when loading the magazine tray.

Unattended operation is supported with a menu-driven remote control, Mitsubishi servo drive, and absolute encoder. Hardened rollers eliminate friction during the loading cycle, and the LNS servo motor control provides precise bar positioning.

S3 T Automatic Magazine Barfeeder:

  • Accommodates round, square, hex, and odd-shaped material
  • Feed-to-part length, with or without turret
  • 15-second complete load cycle time of new bar stock
  • 15-second complete diameter changeover
  • Linear ways permit feed rates up to 4,000ipm
  • Positioning accuracy: 0.004"
  • ”V” roller supports for friction-free bar stock loading.
  • Automatic torque and speed adjustment
  • Shipping weight: 1,750 lb

Auto-tuning software tool

Loaded onto a Fagor 8065 or 8070 CNC, or onto a PC, Auto-Tuning software fine tunes machine-servo performance one axis at a time or all axes automatically, allowing multi-machine tuning, using an icon directory for each machine.

During the tuning process, users can start, stop, pause, or continue the procedure via menu-chosen keys. Within the graphics mode, displaying the Bode frequency response diagrams allows the user to interpret the dynamic behavior of the axes and make decisions for later readjustments.

Within the operating mode, the user takes measurements and develops a more detailed display of various diagrams. The user may activate up to four channels, or modify the scale shown.

An optimized servo response matches the dynamics of the machine tool size, weight, and inertia, improving cycle speeds. Machine reliability and longevity improve due to a servo system that provides more fluid machine movements.

Cutting tool inspection system

The PG 1000 Advance Reaction gage and the PG 1000 Basic Reaction gage digital, low-light-inspection technology for inspecting cutting tools offer upgraded hardware for better repeatability. Segmented scale calibrations can be done over the entire working envelope of the microscope. New Reaction software makes both scale and edge-detection inspections in real time.

The system makes, saves, and recalls inspection scenes for new inspections of a tool image using scales, screen, edge detection, comparisons, or .dxf file overlays in multiple colors. Users can annotate the screen to make their own tool inspection document.

PG 1000 Advance features:

  • Reaction Software
  • 1.3 megapixel USB CCD camera
  • Low-light imaging requires minimum light and reduces hot spots
  • Microscope magnifications from 12.5X to 145X
  • Do multiple screen scale, edge detection, and comparisons in different colors over a single image
  • Magnifications automatically synchronized to PC
  • Base block and focus encoder
  • Focus indication User macros
  • CAD overlay software synchronized to scale movement
  • Automatic screen calibration with magnification change stabilization
  • Segmented scale calibration
  • Euro-Tech PGEB6 6-channel USB encoder interface
  • Software upgrades as hardware permits
