Vertical machining center

Mycenter-3XD’s meehanite cast C-frame construction offers rigidity, durability, and stability. Heavy-duty cross roller linear guideways can carry heavy loads and power through heavy cuts. The NRG belt drive has highly transmissible torque and power from the motor to the spindle with less vibration and noise.

Mycenter-3XD’s automatic tool changer offers smooth tool changes with a 24-tool capacity to reduce idle time and boost productivity. Chip evacuation is performed by the standard base wash system. Internal chip augers and a scraper-type chip conveyor keep the workspace free of chips and contaminants. The standard scraper-type conveyor can be installed on either side of the machine.

The Arumatik-Jr. CNC controller includes high-speed machining functions, 675 block look-ahead, 1,280m memory, USB memory interface, and Ethernet I/F for faster and smoother program transfer.

Ceramic cutting inserts

GSN100’s blend of silicon nitride and proprietary toughening agents increases productivity for brake drums, brake rotors, cylinder blocks and heads, machine beds, gear cases, and housings for trucks, tractors, and farm equipment.

Insert sizes, cutting specs

Greanleaf’s GSN 100 series includes dozens of insert sizes and shapes, but the two most often used for brake parts and milling and multi-station boring of cast iron gear boxes are the SNGN-454 and CNGN-454.

For cutting cast iron, Greanleaf recommends:

Speeds – Up to 3,500sfpm for materials with a Rockwell hardness of 5HRc, down to 500sfpm at 50HRc

Feed – Up to 0.020" per rotation (ipr) at 12HRc, down to 0.002ipr at 65HRc

Depth of cut – Up to 0.225" at 5HRc, down to 0.060" at 65HRc

Self-lubricating plastic bearing

The L500 material for continuous operation in high-speed rotation applications under low loads offers low moisture absorption and thermal expansion. Positive material properties of L500 allow the self-lubrication operation of electric motors, fans, and ventilators.
