Electronically controlled valves for powertrain tuning

Designed to support low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) for diesel engines and acoustic tuning for gasoline engines, the valves feature a modular, scalable design. Lightweight valves can be packaged to fit within any engine architecture.

Valves feature a dynamic flap control designed to generate optimal pressure conditions for efficient EGR and provide fail-safe operation. The actuator is interchangeable using a simple mounting without loose interface components, and the valve’s flexible actuator orientation allows for simple installation in engine control environments without the need to change parts.

Car camera network system on a chip

The R-Car T2 system-on-a-chip (SoC) is dedicated for an Ethernet AVB-enabled vehicle camera network. Delivering high- resolution camera video through multiple systems, the SoC maintains real-time performance with low latency levels, making possible surround-view monitoring and obstacle detection applications.

Surround-view functionality and driver assist systems for braking, steering, and obstacle detection warnings demand substantially higher processing performance to handle the expanded range of image recognition targets. Processing power also aids increased loads imposed by multiple cameras with higher pixel counts. Ethernet AVB features guaranteed bandwidth and synchronization of multiple cameras, and additional cameras that can be flexibly upgraded.

Brushless motor pre-driver IC

The TB9081FG brushless motor pre-driver IC is enhanced to achieve functional safety in electric power steering systems (EPS). The chips are designed to meet the requirements of ASIL-D, the highest automotive safety integrity level prescribed in ISO 26262, Road Vehicles – Functional Safety.

The IC integrates key functions, including 3-phase pre-driver circuits, fail-safe relay pre-driver circuits, and motor current detection circuits, plus various failure detection circuits. An initial diagnosis circuit detects latent faults in the failure detection circuits.

Functional safety analyses have simulated various system failures, providing documentation, such as FMEDA to support safety analysis and design.
