Boston, Mass. – Commercial van specialists XL Hybrids Inc. and van upfitter Knapheide Manufacturing Co. have installed more than 100 XL3 hybrid powertrain on General Motors vehicles.
“Installing over 100 hybrid electric powertrain components on Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana cargo vans in our first five months of production is a great accomplishment,” says Bo Knapheide, senior vice president of distributor and fleet operations. “With XL Hybrids’ technology we offer fleet customers a work-ready, fuel-efficient hybrid van that delivers a fast payback.”
XL Hybrids’ technology, which reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 20% in city driving, is being used in some of the largest fleets in North America including Coca-Cola and FedEx.
Designed for quick integration with the GM powertrains, XL Hybrids’ technology is delivered by Knapheide via the OEM ship-through process, providing a one-stop purchase, upfit, delivery, and invoice experience for commercial fleets.
A hybrid 2014 Chevrolet Express cargo van upfitted with XL Hybrids’ technology by Knapheide will be displayed in the XL Hybrids booth #4181 at the 2014 NTEA Work Truck Show, March 5-7 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
